Ringo Starr is the subject of an upcoming exhibit opening at the GRAMMY museum in Los Angeles on June 12 that will focus on his career as a musician, artist and actor.
Ringo: Peace & Love will cover his early bands (including Rory Storm & The Hurricanes) as well as The Beatles, his solo career and his acting career. Among the cool stuff you’ll get to see at the exhibit: the drum kit he used when The Beatles played Shea Stadium, the drum kit he used when they played The Ed Sullivan Show, his Sgt. Pepper suit, the cape he wore in Help!, and personal letters, photographs and documents from his days in the Fab Four. There will also be an interactive exhibit where a virtual Ringo gives vistors a drum lessons.
The exhibit will be on display in The GRAMMY Museum through November 2013, after which the exhibit will tour select cities.
Ringo and his latest All-Starr Band – which includes Steve Lukather of Toto, Todd Rundgren and Journey/Santana founder Gregg Rolie, just finished a tour of the Pacific Rim; Starr hasn’t announced any further touring or recording plans.
